I finished my Clapotis over the weekend. I haven't blocked it yet, but I will today. I hear that the yarn becomes much softer after washing. I'm really happy with the way the striping turned out, except for one section, where both of the yarns are just grey for about 15cm. I should have cut a little yarn from one of the skeins to get some other colour, but when I started looking at it, I was already almost done and didn't feel like ripping back. All in all, this must be one of my favourite knits. I love the colour and the shape. I only had four skeins of the yarn, where as some people have used a whopping seven. I really think it is big enough. I will probably use it more like a scarf, when cold weather arrives. It's definately too hot right now.

Yarn: Noro Silk Garden, colourway 47, four skeins
Needles: 5,5mm bamboo straights
Modifcations: I made it narrower and shorter and knit it alternating between two skeins to get some stripes

Muutokset: Kudoin Clapotiksesta kapeamman ja lyhyemmän, lisäksi raidoitin sen vaihtamalla kerää kahden kerroksen välein.

Sain Clapotiksen valmiiksi viikonloppuna. Se on vielä pingottamatta, mutta ajattelin pesaista sen tänään. Lanka pehmenee kuuleman mukaan pesussa aika paljon. Olen erittäin tyytyväinen siihen, miltä raidoitus näyttää, paitsi yhdessä kohdassa. Melkein alussa on noin 15cm pelkkää harmaata, kun molempin keriin oli osunut samaa väriä. Aloin katsella sitä kohtaa vasta kun loppu jo häämötti, joten purkamatta jäi. Olisi pitänyt alun perin katkoa siinä kohdassa toisesta kerästä vaan kylmästi lanka ja keriä esiin joku toinen väri. Kaiken kaikkiaan tämä on kyllä ihan lempparineulomuksiani. Väri ja muoto ovat hyvät. Minulla oli vain neljä kerää lankaa, siinä missä jotkut ovat käyttäneet hurjat seitsemän. Laskelmani pitivät ja tästä tuli ihan sopivan kokoinen. Käyttöön tämä taitaa päästä vasta kun säät viilenevät.

kris: Thank you:) I too like the way the stripes look and it also made the knitting more interesting. Plain stockinette can get a little tedious and I get bored easily.
brahdelt: I went to see your clapotis on your blog and I quite like it. I don't think it's plain at all, since the yarn has a little variation in the colour. Then again, I tend to like the simpler stuff better anyway:D

So beautiful! The Silk Garden will get a lot softer after a wash, though I still pull bits and pieces of nature out of it.
Todella kaunis! Olen itsekin suunnitellut tekeväni Clapotiksen, mutta en ole vielä löytänyt mieleistäni lankaa. Sun huivin nähtyäni tekee mieli aloittaa oma heti!
