Home - Kotona

Roskilde festival was absolutely amazing, but also very tiring. Sunday nigth, when I was lying in the festival area in a pile of rainbow coloured laundry line (it was part of some installation) and Roger Waters was playing Pink Floyd's Dark side of the moon, I felt utterly drained. I started having these moments of extreme clarity, and it felt like everything in the universe was in it's right place. That's when I knew it was time to go home.

Four days of the company of 100 000 people, great artists getting my emotions to go up and then back down again every day. Like feelings played with the fast forward button down. There was constant queing, heat, dust and weird smells. The people were partying around the clock. I loved it.

The artists I saw and/or heard: Editors, Jenny Wilson, Clap your hands say yeah, Sigur rós, Disco Ensemble, Matisyahu, Shout out louds, Morrissey, Bob Dylan, Scissor Sisters, Gogol Bordello, The Streets, Kashmir, Why?, Lagwagon, Primal Scream, TOOL, Phoenix, Kanye West, HIM, Two gallants, Thåström, George Clinton Parliament/Funkadelic, Deftones, Anoushka Shankar, Natasja & Ragga pack, Placebo, Franz Ferdinand, Balkan beat box, Roger Waters

I think I knit about ten sock rows on the trip and all of that on my way to Denmark. So I'll be back to blogging knitting related stuff as soon as I have something to report.

Roskildessaoli kerrassaan mahtavaa, vaikka kieltämättä aika raskasta.

Editors, Jenny Wilson, Clap your hands say yeah, Sigur rós, Disco Ensemble, Matisyahu, Shout out louds, Morrissey, Bob Dylan, Scissor Sisters, Gogol Bordello, The Streets, Kashmir, Why?, Lagwagon, Primal Scream, TOOL, Phoenix, Kanye West, HIM, Two gallants, Thåström, George Clinton Parliament/Funkadelic, Deftones, Anoushka Shankar, Natasja & Ragga pack, Placebo, Franz Ferdinand, Balkan beat box, Roger Waters

Taisin kutoa kokonaiset kymmenen kerrosta sukkaa koko reissun aikana, ja senkin vähän menomatkalla. Palaan takaisin neuleasioista bloggailuun kun on taas jotain uutta raportoitavaa.

I really recommend going to Roskilde Festival. This was my second time there and it won't be the last:)

TOOL was good, but I must say that it's quite hard to get the same feeling on the huge Orange stage gigs as on the smaller stages.

My absolute favourite was the Gogol Bordello show, even if it wasn't my favourite band playing there. Good weather, good crowd (not too big - not too small), good sound, good venue and good energy.

Scissor Sisters JA Franz Ferdinand! Haluaisin nähdä molemmat livenä. JA Jenny Wilson JA Placebo JA... Ajatus festareiden ihmismassasta saa minussa aikaan lievää ahdistusta, mutta Roskilde-postisi sai minut pohtimaan asennemuutosta.:)
