I spent last weekend on my family's summer place. The weather was great! So warm and sunny (I got sunburned again). All the trees and busches and such have this incredible fresh shade of green this time of the year. I love the scent of the blooming lily-of-the-valleys'. I didn't do anything particular during the weekend, and indeed my original plan was to relax and detox from all that exam stress. I did manage to finish the Dream swatch wrap, though. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out, and so is my mom, the new owner of the wrap. So it's all good and I liked knitting it. The finished wrap rolled in a little, but it got fixed when I ironed it. The flat quality of tape yarn helps a bit too, I think. I suppose the stockinette bits could be substituted with garter stitch to prevent rolling with trickier yarns.Pattern: Knit and Tonic's Dream swatch head band

Vietin viime viikonlopun meidän perheen kesäpaikalla. Sää suosi ja aurinko paistoi (poltin taas kerran hipiäni). Kaikissa puskissa ja puissa on tähän aikaan vuodesta ihanan raikas vihreän sävy, eikä kielon tuoksua kesäillassa voita mikään. En tehnyt viikonloppuna mitään tähdellistä ja se oli oikestaan suunnitelmakin. Halusin rentoutua kunnolla kaiken pääsykoestressin jälkeen ja ihan olla vaan. Sain kuitenkin Dream swatch -huivin valmiiksi. Siitä tuli sellainen kuin pitikin ja huivin nykyinen omistaja, äitini tykkäsi, joten kannatti väkertää. Ihan mukavahan sitä oli kutoa. Valmis huivi rullaantui hiukan, mutta rullaaminen korjaantui silittäessä. Nauhalangan litteys auttaa varmaan osaltaan asettumisessa. Jos tämän tekisi jostain hankalammasta langasta, voisi harkita sileän neuleen korvaamista ainaoikealla.

Juuri tuota alkukesän vihreää on ehkä eniten Suomessa ikävä. Kauniita kuvia taas. Ja kaunis huivi!
Kaunis huivi! Ensimmäinen kuva on hieno, huivi näyttää tosiaan siltä, että se on tehty puusta.

Steph: My cats do indeed have a special run there, which my dad built. I don't want to test whether my cats would return if I just left them loose outdoors. This way they can eat grass, catch bugs, climb, scartch and just lye in the sun without me stressing about their doings. I think they are happy with the arragenment too:)
