Winter attack - Talvihyökkäys

No blogging for a while, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any knitting. I'll fill you in with the things I've knit as soon as I get around to taking photos of things.

It has been an unusually warm winter here in Finland, but today the winter attacked us. The snowman in the picture is me after walking home from university today. But no complaints from me, I love snow. It's nice to finally get plenty of it.

In the picture I'm wearing a tringle scarf I recently knit from some German handspun yarn called Naturwolle, that my mom gave me. I thought the greens were a little too bright for my taste, so I died the scarf with grey to mute the colours just a little. I'm quite pleased with the end result. The scarf is loosely based on Cosmicplutos Simple yet effective pattern.

Next in line is Nora Gaughan's gorgeous bolero, pictured on the cover of winter Vogue Knitting. I'm making it cardigan length (somehow) and substituting the collar with something less massive. So far I've completed three pentagons.

Bloggaus ei ole oikein maistunut ja viime postauksesta on vierähtänyt jo yli kuukausi. Se ei kuitenkaan tarkoita ettei täällä olisi kudottu. Päivittelen tänne kuvia tekemistäni jutuista, jahka saan räpsittyä niitä.

Talvi päätti sitten tulla tännekin oikein voimalla. Päälleni kertyi kunnollinen kinos, kun kävelin tänään lumipyryssä yliopistolta kotiin. En kyllä valita, kivaa kun saatiin lunta.

Lumen alla on vastavalmistunut lämpöinen kolmiohuivi. Huivin kudoin äidin Vihreästä vyyhdistä tuomasta Naturwollesta. Langan vihreät olivat pikkuisen liian räikeitä minun makuuni, joten värjäsin valmiin huivin harmaalla nitorilla. Värjäys onnistui hyvin ja väreistä tuli mukavasti murretummat ja tummemmat. Ohjeena olen käyttänyt, hiukan mukaillen, Cosmicpluton Simple yet effective -huivia.

Tällä hetkellä puikoilla polttelee talven Vogue Knittingin kannessakin ollut Nora Gaughanin ihana bolero. Ajattelin muuttaa mallin vyötäröpituiseksi ja tehdä toisenlaisen kaulusratkaisun, alkuperäisen melko massiivisen sijaan.

Tähän mennessä on valmistunut kolme palmikkoviisikulmiota.
